Diversion

Often individuals can benefit from a proactive educational and treatment programs. AES offers Diversion Programs for youth, adults, and families in the community.

It is a excellent way to show the court your commitment to avoiding future issues.

Program Goals

The primary goal of the AES Diversion Program is to provide education and treatment specific to the court requirements to ensure successful completion of the program and the benefit of the court diversion offer. Successful completion of the program may also help you avoid jail time or a criminal conviction.


Enrollment

AES works closely with the State to ensure compliance for your program. We help you complete the required treatment and education on time to allow you the benefit of your bargin with the court or prosecutor. What to Expect

  1. Orientation. The orientation counselor will tell you everything you need to know about the program and help you select a schedule.
  2. Individual assessment. AES counselors will use approved evaluation and assessments tools to determine your needs.
  3. Individualized treatment plans based on your assessment. AES will develop and present an individualized treatment plan for you that may consist of individual or group Counseling, Education and Treatment.
  4. Individual counseling sessions. Program requirements include individual counseling sessions to guide you to successful completion of the program.
  5. Group counseling sessions. You may be required to attend group counseling sessions, which focus on decision making, behaviors of addiction, positive lifestyle changes, understanding triggers, relapse prevention and other relevant topics.
  6. Education sessions. If appropriate education sessions may be required. These classes present different views and lesson on how to deal with the issues and stress that were effecting your life and relationships.
  7. Self-help support meetings. Depending on the individual, support and self help meeting may be part of the diversion program.
  8. Individual exit interview. This interview will help us assess your progress, your risk of future incidents and provide a plan to help you apply the newly learned skills after the class is over.
  9. Family group sessions are also available, to help you rebuild family relationships.
